Today I'm in a dreamy kind of mood reminiscing over the soft, romantic look at Rodarte's Spring/Summer '16 show.
With the holidays now over, I'm ready to take a break from the glitter and glam and step into something more natural and carefree.
This monochromatic peach look is quick to create and easy to pull off on a wide range of skintones. BUT...that highlight tho! It's everything my dehydrated winter skin wishes it could be! And despite being from two seasons ago, this look is pretty timeless in my book!
Here are my product recommendations on how you can achieve this peachy dream, the green way:
1. THE PREP
Before applying makeup, be sure to moisturize your skin thoroughly. For extra radiance, massage a glow boosting serum into your skin, wait a couple of minutes, and then apply your foundation. The serum will not only nourish your skin and boost it's natural radiance over time, but also help your foundation sit more nicely, especially on top of any dehydrated or dry patches. Kypris' Antioxidant Dew Serum is lightweight enough to use under foundation, soothing on sensitive skin (it calms redness and doesn't contain any potentially irritating essential oils), and also a major luminosity booster. WIN, WIN, WIN!
2. THE BLUSH
Peachy cheeks flatter most complexions and look radiant but not over the top. A cream product blends quickly and easily with the fingers and can often give a more natural look than powder. I am currently in love with the Organic Creme Blushers from Au Naturale. They've got the most gorgeous, pigmented colours that are creamy enough to blend easily, but don't get greasy throughout the day. For this look I recommend Palermo for light to medium skin tones and Sherbert for medium to medium-deep skin tones.
Swipe your finger across the top of the stick and tap the colour all over the apples of your cheeks for this heavenly flush!
3. THE GLOW
It wouldn't be a glowy look without highlighter. Again, Au Naturale makes a variety of gorgeous shades for all skin tones: Celestial for fairer skin, OG for medium skintones, and Rose Gold for medium to deep skin.
You probably already know the drill! Blend onto the high points of the face: the tops of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and the cupid's bow. Don't forget the inner corner of the eyes to brighten your peepers.
4. THE EYES
For those of you who have dryer eyelids, the Au Naturale Organic Creme Blushers could definitely double as eye shadow sticks. But for those of you with oily eyelids, powder shadows are a more long wearing option. Cate McNabb has some beautiful, long-wearing, mineral-based neutrals. Go for Peachy Keen if you're fair, Kitten Nose if you're light to medium, and Cowboy Boots if you've got a medium to medium-deep complexion.
A light wash of peachy colour from your lashline to your crease is all you need. Be sure to blend your edges well for a dreamy gaze.
5. THE LIPS
Top the look off with a nude, satin lip. Try Ilia Beauty Lipstick in Humble Me for light skin tones and 100% Pure Cocoa Butter Semi Matte Lipstick in Sandstone for medium skin tones.
et voilà! An easy, fresh face for a new year!
